Do not let your AI be just a vase

AI projects are everywhere right now, and the market looks lively. But if you think about it carefully, many so-called AI apps are really just wrappers around existing models. For large enterprises, that kind of thing has no appeal. Why? Because their own internal technical teams can build it in a week or two. That makes the situation awkward: for startups today, the competitor is often not another startup, but the client’s internal IT department.

If you are evaluating technology vendors, or building innovation internally, you have to think this through: is this thing only good enough to be a toy? Many companies will spend that 1% “try something new” budget on toys like this, play with them, and move on. If you want to win the 15% or more core budget, you have to prove that the product solves real pain points, the kind of hard problem that internal teams want to solve but cannot solve well.

A simple AI idea is really not worth much anymore. The key is that you need a real company structure and complete business logic, while AI is only the tool you use to solve the problem. Do not put the cart before the horse and use AI just for the sake of using AI. We have seen too many cases with technology but no business scenario, and in the end they all become unused inventory code. The real moat is never the model itself. It is how you weave the model into complex business workflows until it becomes irreplaceable.
