AI can also have a personality, and it depends on what you want
We used to think AI was just a tool, and that every vendor’s version was basically the same. But as things move forward, each company’s AI may grow a different personality. This is not only a difference in technical direction, but also a difference in values.
A very vivid example: ask AI to help you write an email. Some models may go back and forth with you for half an hour, constantly praising you with lines like “this is such a great idea,” then give you twenty revisions and waste a lot of your time, all just to increase stickiness. Another model may simply tell you: “This email is already very clear. Stop fiddling with it and send it so you can get back to real work.”
These two completely different responses represent two very different product philosophies. Do you want AI to be a flattering courtier that always agrees with you, or an honest friend that dares to push back for the sake of your efficiency? As business decision-makers, when we introduce AI, we are also choosing a work culture. Do you want employees to spend all day playing word games with AI, or do you want AI to truly become a lever for productivity?
